What's Left?

The votes are totaled and America made it's choice. Forgive me for being a little sore, but I am holding my congratulations until I see how Obama leads. The Electorate shows a landslide for Obama, but the raw popular numbers show this election was NOT a blow-out. I have to admit I am surprised the margin wasn't more, why? Because Obama out-spent McCain 4-1, the media is in Obama's pocket, and he never gave a definitive answer on anything important. I don't think Obama's challenge is not to reach out; the challenge is to gain our conservative trust.

As a person in the military, I am nervous! I have already heard that Barny Frank is proposing military budget cuts up to 25%. I am not concerned about job security, my concern is national security. You know, the 'thing' that Clinton degraded allowing Sept 11, 2001. (I don't care what anyone says, Bill Clinton has the blood of 9-11 on his hands!!!) Anyway, I digress.

I believe, even though John McCain lost last night, he will continue to serve as a hell-raising senator; by that, he will still serve nation, not just Arizona.

Now what about George W. Bush? He got screwed!!! The Dems demonized him; the liberal media neutralized his presidency; and Hollywood liberal progressives marginalized him. Yet, are we better off now than we were 8 years ago? YES! We had a strong economy until just months ago. Are we more safe that we were 8 years ago? We have taken the fight to the terrorists on there ground rather than ours. Where's the attack everyone was talking about after 9-11? I truly believe that in 5 to 10 years the verdict will be handed down in a historical perspective. GW will be looked at as an unpopular president in his last years, but over all he will be seen as at least a good president.

I hope Sara Palin sticks around. She is one, I believe may lead the next conservative uprising. Palin/Rice 2012?

Finally the 'Pit Bull' is unleashed!

One of the points Palin hit that media isn't picking up is on what I consider a Republican/Democrat collective disaster: The No Child Left Behind Act! It was addressed as not working. Talk to a teacher and they will most likely agree.

As soon as the debate was over, I put one of the McCain-Palin bumper stickers on my car that I received in the mail today.

First Mate

I have been watching the news quite regularly over the past several weeks. I have taken a great interest in this Presidential race, maybe more so than Bush-Gore & Bush-Kerry. Am I in a minority? I don't think so.

This is the most historic election to ever take place in the United States. On one side, we have the first black man on a major party ticket; on the other, the first female on a conservative ticket. I love America!

I despise the media! Over the past several weeks, the news outlets have shown their true colors as vultures! You can put lipstick on a vulture. . . I can totally understand where a VP candidate gets scrutinized by the mere fact they are next in line for the Presidency. History knows America has relied on the VP pick to lead the country on several occasions. Now by the mere fact that the lead on the ticket is 72 years old, a greater potential exists something could happen to incapacitate the President and the VP is called upon to lead the country. Does this justify hacking e-mail accounts? Does this justify cheap shots at a pregnant daughter? Does this justify a trumped-up scandal? Does this justify greater scrutiny on the female than the male counterpart? I DON'T THINK SO!!

Many years ago laws were enacted that enforced truth in advertising. Perhaps this is could be used as corner stone precedence to enact a truth in media laws. I truly believe America is on the verge of electing a candidate based on lies, just like Kerry nearly getting elected as a Bush protest (50% of Kerry's vote was a hate vote for Bush). Is this the only way a Democrat can get elected? John Kennedy should be rolling in his grave in knowing what has become of his party.

I believe people should know about Obama's association with known a terrorist. Or how about his gaping lack of any sort of experience (I doubt experience would be a question if Obama was second on the ticket)? Or lack of substance aside from bashing Bush, his opponent, or the VP opponent? What about Biden saying that Hillary would have made a better VP pick? Doesn't this undermine Obama's decision making ability? Why isn't this in the news? If there was any truth in the media, McCain would be way ahead--remember Reagan-Carter? The media has picked their candidate, but they have not picked mine! All I have to say to the media is: Shut-up and report!

This is what I think McCain should start doing. I believe McCain needs to start painting the picture of the 'McCain Nation' just like Kennedy's "Camelot". A couple weeks ago, McCain started talking about what his cabinet would look like. I think he should continue this track. And here's why: People want to be able to see what the future holds and painting the picture of the McCain Nation maybe what seals the deal; the economy, social issues, foreign policy, Iraq, etc.

McCain is the true elder, wiser statesman. I think he needs to project that persona as a means to up the level of trust with the voters. On the converse, McCain also needs to cut Palin loose to ground and pound on Obama & Biden. McCain takes the higher road while Palin distracts and attacks. McCain talks on issues as Palin becomes the attack dog; you know, Sara 'The Bit Bull' Palin!?

How many years has it been since America has had a true heroic figure as Commander-in-Chief? Regardless of how much time has past, I think we are about to have one in John McCain! Why? Because I believe John McCain truly personifies the true nature of the American spirit: Tenacious and Defiant.

Tenacious: McCain has a never say ‘die’ attitude; counted out a year and half ago and now a presidential nominee.

Defiant: Ahead in the polls and blasting his own party for becoming ‘Washingtonized’.

I believe there are some other things the press missed out on so far as to the true character of John McCain. I believe him to be a brilliant man, an elder statesman. Here’s why: by personal experience, it would be so easy to wash life’s terms away with a bottle of whiskey or drugs and be left to waste away in a VA hospital. But here he is, running for president. Not only is he a true heroic story, but he is also on stage talking about his horrific experiences in ‘Hanoi Hilton’. He doesn’t go into gory detail, thankfully, because the general populous most likely couldn’t stomach the horrors. Anyone dealing with the scars of life, talking about it can be the toughest thing. Being able to speak of the experiences on national TV is a testament to strong character; Tenacious survival.

Now-- How many think McCain would have picked Sarah Palin even if Obama would have picked Hillary for VP? I think he would have been wise too. American woman need a choice. Contrary to what the liberal media says, not all women are pro-choice!

The means McCain used to reveal his choice was great: Right after the DNC. The Dems never had a chance for a concentrated attack. Now this is the part of the reason why the Republicans have their convention after the DNC. Humm . . . could there be an upper hand with the element of surprise?

In many countries, elections equate a civil war, bloody and violent. Dictatorships, the freedom doesn’t even exist aside from showing a façade of democracy to the outside world. This campaign season has made me realize something: We truly due live in thee greatest country on the face the Earth! And here’s why: Every four years America has a discussion as we reflect on the past, where we are now, and decide how to move foreword. We talk, heated at times, yes; but we talk with no violence.

A Long Time Comming

Who am I? My name is Pete. I am a full time Guardsman. I grow up in Minnesota with large Christian family. I joined the military in 1998 and I have been to Europe, Iraq, and have either visited or lived in nearly half the continental United States. **BE ADVISED: what I say on this blog no body's thoughts but my own!** However, I do reserve the right to use quotes to support my thoughts and my reasoning for them.

This is something I have always wanted to do--publish my thoughts. I have often thought and often been told that my thinking is a little crazy or off the wall at times. So please let me know if what I write is either of the above or if I am completely nuts or if I strike the nail squarely on the head. I can take constructive criticisms.

What will you see on this blog? The intent I have for this blog is a bit of a stress release, promote things I believe in, and share just random thoughts. You may see Top-5 or Top-10 lists from time time. These lists may relate to anything from the WWE to Politics to Music to Social Issues. Be advised: I am a conservative and I will not hide the fact this blog most likely won't be 'fair and balanced'. However, I will try to present both sides. For example, one of the first things I want write about is the Acts of True Class by our Presidential Candidates in this campaign season. This will include both sides for I believe people should be commended for doing the right thing.

--John McCain: Releasing the TV commercial congratulating Barack Obama on his historic nomination to a major party presidential ticket.
--Barack Obama: Acknowledging and paying respects to John McCain's military service and service to America in his acceptance speech during the DNC.
--John McCain: Postponing major convention speeches on the first night of RNC in order to keep focus on issues relating Hurricane Gustav.
--BarackObama: Heading off personal attacks on Sara Palin by telling his campaign people that family is off limits.
--John McCain: During McCain's RNC acceptance speech, he made a statement in reference to Obama to the sounds of 'we, as Americans, have more in common than not.' (note: single quote marks are used because this may not be a direct quote.)
